Social media is really anything but. What used to be actual places to communicate with people effectively, has evolved into becoming another massive marketing billboard for those seeking to sell an idea. Much of ideas which don’t really get off the ground much, but become talking points for someone’s conversation.
People seem to have this misconception that people who are now in their 40s didn’t grow up on the internet. We did. But in different forms. We had these things called “web sites’ which kind of acted like dummy filters to sieve out the technology deficient. If you didn’t know HTML or some other kind of language, you had no voice on teh internet. Period. unless you went to something like Yahoo! Groups.
