Over the last several days since the Katrina hurricane disaster in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama last Monday, I have been dissappointed in the way that the media always portrays Black people in a negative light. This is nothing new, this has been going on for centuries, but what wrenches my heart the most is an issue even bigger which spans across color lines; how the “haves” have access to life-saving facilities while the “have-nots” are left to fend for their lives.
