I bought me a Dell notebook yesterday; an Inspiron 2200 for $549 (including shiipping) with a free printer. What I don’t like about Dell is that you can’t go to the store and buy one. I hate waiting for stuff to ship and hate wondering if its going to be dropped in shipment even less. I’m really anxious to get it, plus I have a paper due soon and would like to use that when I go to the library to study. And with Thanksgiving next week, I don’t think I will get it until around November 1st. ARGH!
Being a former Gateway employee, I really wanted to go with them but their laptops (and everything else) is just too goddamn high when I can get a computer with the same specs from Dell; Gateway’s minimum computer was $599. Dell’s was $499. Unfortunately, I just missed getting it for $399; the sell had ended a few days prior to me ordering. I also just missed by ONE FRIGGIN DAY a free 15″ LCD upgrade. Well, at least I have my free printer and $24 shipping. But do I really need yet another printer? I already have two. I will put it to some use somewhere, I guess.
I had called to see if they were having any specials on Black Friday but they wouldn’t cough it up. The man was obviously in India and when I asked the question, he didn’t know what Black Friday was. (Ding1). Then to top it off, he put me on hold forever (Ding2) and then swung me back out into the queue without answering my question(Ding3). FUCKER. And I made sure when I did my survey I rated them low on that. If you don’t know then say you don’t just don’t put me on hold for 20 minutes and then next thing I know I was getting the IVR menus again.
I’ve always heard that Dell’s support sucks but now I have experienced it first hand and the hype is right. I pray to Krishna I never have to call them for anything else.
