If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?
Dangerous question. I don’t have thoughts like this anymore, number one reason because I’m an adult. Lol. I’ve stopped stanning over people since high school.
But even if I wanted to be someone else, even just for a day, why? Everyone has those “grass looking greener on the other side” thoughts because people only allow you to see what they want you to see.
The person you’d want to be for a day could secretly be a drug addict or suffering from alcoholism. Or even worse, a sex offender or child abuser, then carry on with their day, only showing the world what they want them to see. Also, some people are just very sad. They could be dealing with depression or some other mental illness, or maybe even a terminal illness. You could be setting yourself up for misery.
So no, I wouldn’t want to be anyone else, not even for a day. I could be stepping into someone else’s personal hell. Humans are visual beings and want more than we have.ย We often covet things, or even lives and people, just because we see it looks desirable but could potentially put ourselves in some Twilight Zone or Black Mirror moment. Or even worse, some Saw or Texas Chainsaw Massacre moment.
I know who I am. I’m an artist, a musician, and many other things, so I love me and content and comfortable with being me 24/7. I wouldn’t trade me for anyone else. Sure, there are things that I want that other people already have, but I’d rather work on achieving those things as my current self, not as somebody else.
Like Popeye, I yam what I am, and that’s all that I yam. Toot-toot.
